The American Coptic Association staged a demonstration in front of the White House to protest the persecution of the Copts around the globe. It is estimated that around 550 people attended. We sadly mention that Cardinal Estefanous was standing with Islamic religious leaders to counter balance this demonstration.

March 11, 2000

The Copts of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area held a vigil for our martyrs at El Kosheh on Saturday March 11th. Special thanks to Father Matthias Farid Wahba for all his encouragement and support for this event. We also express our thanks to the dignitaries who attended the memorial service, and the many Coptic families who demonstrated in front of the Federal Building and the Egyptian Consulate in San Francisco, California. Nearly 100 of the 140 who attended the memorial came to the later actions. The spirit was strong, and it was clear that we had the attention of the Egyptian Consul and her staff, who watched us from their windows.

February 24, 2000

The American Coptic Association staged a demonstration in front of the United Nations (U.N.) building in New York On February 21, 2000. The Demonstration took place at 1:00pm and lasted until 4:00pm. Thanks to all who attended including the Youth and children... The event was a success. The youth who came on their own and really expressed their feeling were very appreciated and deserve a special thanks. It is estimated that at least 350-400 people attended.
